The 35th Meeting of the IT Strategic Headquarters Thursday, January 19, 2006 JAPANESE The 35th meeting of the IT Strategic Headquarters was held at the Prime Minister's Official Residence. At the meeting, the new IT strategy for Japan "IT New Reform Strategy" was decided. Through the steady pursuit of this strategy, Japan will lead the world in accomplishing reform through IT by FY2010 and transform itself into a collaborative IT society with the potential for sustainable and autonomous development in which anyone can participate in the activities of society at their own initiative. In concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi said, "Japan has become the world's most advanced IT nation. Nevertheless we will continue to work through the IT New Reform Strategy to retain our position as the most advanced nation in the coming age of rapid changes, as well as to realize a society in which each and every one of the people can experience the benefits of IT. I ask for your further cooperation in this endeavor."
